Hacienda
Records & Recording Studios is proud to have been the first
24-track studio in South Texas. In 1976, Hacienda Records commissioned
top studio designer Tom Irby of Studio Supply Company in Nashville.
Mr. Irby had the freedom of working with an enormous abandoned
building. He suggested that a building be built inside the existing
building to offer the best possible sound reinforcement. Construction
took almost a full year due to all the detailed moldings and wall
designs. Three roofs totally insulated the ceiling and over 300
pounds of sand were used to eliminate all floor vibrations. Upon
the studio’s completion in June of 1977, Hacienda Records was
named in industry trade magazine REP (now known as Mix Magazine)
as one of the 10 best studios in the country.
The
structure remains the same: a large comfortable control room,
and a total of 4 isolation booths, including a large drum booth
with interchangeable hard and soft areas for reflective purposes.
Large glass panels allow easy visual access to all recordings
participants, including producers and engineers.
From
1976 to the present, co-founder Rick Garcia has headed the production
department. With a strong musical background, Rick has produced
numerous hits for many Hacienda Artists including the mega-hit
“Si Quieres Verme Llorar” by Lisa Lopez. For over 34 years, Hacienda
Records has recorded numerous stars including Emilio Navaira,
Ram Herrera, David Lee Garza, La Movida, The Hometown Boys, La
Tropa F, Tony De La Rosa, Mr. Mike, and Jim Dandy. Hacienda has
also recorded numerous Grammy nominees including Freddy Fender,
La Mafia, Steve Jordan, Mingo Saldivar and Pio Trevino.
Hacienda
Records & Recording Studio has evolved from a one-studio facility
into a major studio complex currently housing 2 individual recording
studios-Studios A and B. The studio is available for rental around
the clock, by appointment only, 7 days a week. We specialize in
recording all types of music including rap, rock, country, hip
hop, tropical, etc and also have the most reasonable rates in the
state.
